I know this has probably been discussed before, but i just want to be sure i am giving the right info to my boss.

He wants to buy a new 4 door Jeep Rubicon and flat tow it behind his giant RV. He has a little civic hybrid he tows on a dolly right now, but he hates dealing with the dolly, so he just wants to drag the thing behind the RV. I told him its a bad idea because of wear on the transmission and stuff.

What do the experts say??

PS he will be getting an Auto tranny.

Thanks for the input

There is no wear on the tranny. Flat towing, the auto is in park and the transfer case is in neutral - so the movement stops there. Of course, he should verify this with his owner's manual...

You can do it but its best on a trailer just tell em to leave it in N and never have the transfer case in gear either 2H or N there as well also remmember those tires arent to cheap and arent to hard like a either.
