Here how my junk currently sits. Waiting for my new house to close before I finish it. The fiance would get miffed if I bought more truck parts instead of the washer/dryer/fridge we need

Should be done by end of March

I never really did a build thread on the swap. It is your typical D44 swap with Marlins 4" springs (USA made) front and rear. ARB's front and rear, dual transfer case, blah blah blah.

It will have less sheetmetal and more DOM this year and maybe some links.:smokin:

Killer pics guys.
My ride is still in development to do harder stuff than I have done so far.
http://www.z3power.net/Clines082006__37__533x400.jpg

So far, it's been tires and body protection. I have always been amazed on how capable our toys are in stock form. But like any guy, we always want to make it better. My next planned major mod will be the suspension.
Looking at Camburg or Donahoe with Deaver springs -- at 2.5" increase. Nothing wild, just more capable for expedition type driving.

I manage and designed my own webpage to document my travels and experiences with any mods. But my real passion has been my other ride...
http://www.z3power.net/Z3_Trailer_722x384.JPG
Most of the work I have done myself and most of my time and money has gone to her.

Anyways, hello and I hope to contribute to this site more often.

Yo, Mogg....

Then, in January this happened....

Now, the problem is....when I sleep late the wife's gone in it. Can't figure it out. She's always been in my ass over wheelin' but I can't keep her out of the truck.

Hope you and the family are doin' good.

Totaled? How is that totaled? Looks like cosmetic damage only, maybe a little on the core support which for my truck was 350 from the dealer and really relatively easy to take off.

This was totaled, not really that bad, but the core support and d-side apron were fucked up. 750 for dealer parts.

So your truck was literally totaled from insurance? I dont see how thats possible especially being newer and your hood isnt even fucked up. Hell its 100% drivable obviously.

Hoods are such a PITA to find I will probably beat mine back to shape and use it with a tie-down til I fine one.

Here is the build thread

http://ttora.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22521&highlight=double+cab+sas

The design is based on Jake Beggy's and Dean's over on ttora (I think they have both migrated to Pirate now) front is a three link, 14" fox coilovers on a (curry antirock for anti-sway) wide track full chromo d44 arb'd with a chevy spring rear setup on top of a 97 arb'd taco axle both 4.88s. It has the auto with marlins doubler. Motor is trd supercharged with underdrive pully, larger injectors, walbro 190 fuel pump and two piggy back computers with a permanent wideband setup for modifying the air fuel maps and timing. Two buddies and myself did all the work, the buildup is on the ttora site.
Truck has been on the road for about 19 months, 16k and doing great. Its a little pricey to drive at 14-15mpg and high test, but no payment helps. Hydro assist is going on soon, the pump started making odd noises this weekend. Over all a great truck that can handle fairly decent off road trips.

Who's made that front bumper?

Also, are those factory flares? They look pretty kewl. I've got a 97' but I have shitty weak chrome flares.

They are TRD flares from Toyota and the front bumper was fabbed by a friend of mine here at Wilson Performance and Off Road. Here's a view from the top..

It's actually a Softopper. The less expensive version of a Can Back. www.softopper.com :flipoff2:

lol Thanks Brain. :bert:

The other option for soft tops is a Bestop. http://www.bestop.com/ Definitely the cheapest. I paid something like $450.00 for mine at the off-road expo in Pamona.

I think Bestops have gone up in price since you got yours. Now they are close to 600, Softoppers start at about 530 for a midsize top.

Holy crap, I Paid $419 for the top, and about $25 for shipping. That was only two years ago.

Thanks man. Like Brian said, it's a Softopper. It's half the price of a CanBack but isn't load bearing. It folds flat too (an option I have yet to use) and the sides roll up (looks kinda retarded that way with them rolled up). I wanted a camper shell but didn't want to deal with the weight of one since I've got the 2.7...plus camper shells raise your COG slightly. It's definitely nice to pull up to camp and drink beer while everyone sets up their tents :D.

Are you talking to me?

In the rear I'm running an 03 Elocked axle out of a totaled prerunner regeared to 5.29s and the front is a D44 out of an 86 Jeep Wagoneer regeared to 5.38s.

nope. just resivoired 14"ers. once i get some experience tuning shocks and save some cash then ill go links, coilovers, and bypasses. just checks poly's site and it looks like i could upgrade to coilovers with a new body, slider, adjuster, etc for less than new coilovers would cost.

i forgot this one

their is plywood under it, need to make sure i get my security deposit back.

use the truck for work so not quite yet, $0.45 a mile isnt worth it when im eating up 35s or 37s getting high teens mpg for a 100+ miles a day. word on the street is we are getting company trucks so im hoping that will happen soon. i miss wheeling.

makin a stop at FROR next week on my way back to ca from nj to pick up a few things and get a few ideas on what im in for. then it will be axle/steering decision time and then spending money.
