The 'ol lady and I are moving from Sacto to Hartford for her to go to Med school. We need to haul all of our household items as well as my rock crawler. We could drive the other two vehicles. We've found that we can rent a truck from Penske and have it the time needed for 900. I was planning on pulling the crawler with the Penske truck, but thought that I'd post up here to see if anyone could do better. We will be moving in August.

Don't forget to factor in your cost for fuel,hotels,food,tolls,time to drive,help to load /unload. Time out of work also. There is a lot more to it than getting it on a truck and drive across. Just the vehicle alone would cost 1000$ or more. Then the household belongings about 50 cents per lb. If you can get this done by a moving company for under 3000 grand(based on about 4000 lbs) your doing very well.
