: sj410 carb ?
rockmike 02-23-2007, 09:29 AM well ive got this thing opperating under its own power, been quite a challenge ive got it to run real smooth.Just having a carb problem,im thinkin its a lean codition. Now for the ? does anybody have any specs for the carb as fare as float setting.Im thinkin the bowl level is to low.Theres no fuel window.worst case i can just start making adjustments, but its kinda of a bitch to pull the top of carb so if i can get some info so i dont have to do this 5 times to find the sweet spot.thanx in advance.
jones 02-23-2007, 12:10 PM If no one can help here I'd ask on the forum over at LJ10.com. Someone there will likely know. :D

tinyone970 02-24-2007, 08:50 AM err is it an aisin carb
rockmike 02-24-2007, 09:38 AM err is it an aisin carbim preety sure it is im at work and cant go look but aisin is all over this thing so id say yes it is.
tinyone970 02-25-2007, 01:37 PM if it is the standard 410carb then the fuel/air mixture screw is near the pcv valve on the top of the carb this screw should have an anti tamper cylindrical outer shell (open top) cut a slot for a flat head screwdriver and turn it (don't know which way) until it runs right
the screw near the throttle on the carb is the idle screw
timing is 10 degrees from top dead centre
i have an 85 410 same carb
best thing is fit an SU if you can get one over there
any more questions
rockmike 02-26-2007, 09:31 AM thanx for youre help no more ? at this time,i messed with the bowl setting this weekend,i finally creeped up on it and wow im empressed this little bastard rips for what it is,im thinkin this rig is going to be alot of fun on the trail. Were most rigs have one or two lines to choose ill have 3or 4 lines to pick.

Bobzooki 02-26-2007, 06:41 PM I had an SU carb on my 1962 Austin Mini, when I lived in England.
For an 850 cc engine it did pretty good, but I HATED that carb! I've never met anybody that said they actually liked them! It was...STRANGE. It had an Oil Damper on top. Everybody I knew with an SU wanted a Weber.

err they are very good a damn sight better than the aisins most people have SU's ere
they are simple
easy to tune
don't fail on hills (something we have lots of in wales/uk)
and cheap:flipoff2:
i have one to go on my 410 engine btw SU's are sidedraft carbs so easy mod just straight bolt-on and connect up
webbers have the same problem as aisins but 999cc racing engine rally spec mini's love webers the big ones that is the 45's dcoe
so next up is SU (hif38) ,electric fuel pump , bigger fuel filter , new fuel lines , inboard petrol tank (racing aluminium covered in fibreglass):flipoff2:
finally some poke:D :smokin: :flipoff2:
rockmike 02-27-2007, 08:56 AM thanx for the info im not ready to shit can this carb like i said its working good for now.I havnt had it out on any hills yet, to see if it floods out on steep angles. If it does ill probably convert to a propane mixer.CANT AMAGINE THOSE "SU"'S are available here in the states.
Bobzooki 02-27-2007, 10:16 AM Just be sure you have the "carb tube" mod - I know it helps the carbed Sammi's - I would guess it would be the same on an SJ413 - and probably on a 410.
Got to be a link to it somewhere here.

Got to be a link to it somewhere here.ya im familiar with this mod deff. helps the sammi carb, thats the first thing i do when i pick up a new to me sammi. This carb is so diff im not sure if you can do that on these carbs.Just in case somone reding this and wondering the part # is 13211-831z0 from the suzuki dealer.

The FSM here tells me the timing is 6 BTDC @ 850 rpms. The float setting on the carb is not like one I seen before. Turn it over and measure 10mm from the end and them at that point its 44.5mm to 46.5mm.
I have to try to copy the page and post it or send it to you. This show measuring to the bottom of the float at a certain distance from the end.
Seems that the idle mixture screw is under a plug on the top right before the carb bolts on.
Sorry no part numbers.
BTW Where you at? I am in Georgia. Not to far from atlanta.
This carb is nothing like a samurai carb. 1 barrell sidedraft. It suppose to be a aisan 80010.
