On my jeep I am in progress of doing a shackle reversal in the front and flipping the waggy springs I have in the front around so the short side is forward. From my math that should move the front axle about 6" forward of where it is now.
I got a chevy astro steering box, It is a saginaw box and is a direct swap for the stock YJ box, Only main difference is it has a forward facing pitman arm instead of the rearward like the stock yj box. I thought this would be a piece of cake and take care of my steering binding problems, but It looks like it is going to move the attachment point for the draglink on the pitman arm about 12" forward. Which brings me to my question,
Is there going to be ill effects in having the draglink attach 6" further forward than a stock setup? Will this throw off my steering and handling ?

I'm about to do the same thing and would like to know too. The 97 and up boxes are supposed to be the ones that the TJs use, I didn't think they were a direct swap onto a YJ.

I'm putting the waggy springs flipped around, leaving the shackle up front, but I'm going to lengthen the frame foward by a couple of inches. I should be netting around 4-5 inches.

not exactly positive of the year, If I had to guess I would say late 80's early 90's I got it from a pick and pull yard, didn't pay attention to the year, I bolts up to my YJ just fine, I just has 3 bolts instead of 4 like the YJ. I have not checked to make sure the steering shaft and lines will bolt up yet but I am not to concerned because I have the steering shaft and the lines from the astro so I am sure I can make it work if there is a problem
