What is the hardest trail in the eastern US. Just out of curiousity.

Big Cuss:

http://forum.jrocc.com/pics/CusHillSmall.jpg

However, no one has conquered it yet. Several people have pulled to the bottom of it and chickened out.

It is found in JROCC. http://www.jrocc.com

This is NOT used in ERoCC competition because it is too dangerous. However, we used Lil' Cuss in our April event, it is about 1/4 the size of Big Cuss.

Paragon has a new trail called Death Valley, it looks pretty insane. I didn't try it cuz I'm lame and don't have a cage yet. They've got a few others too. Lower 2 at Tellico is pretty tough, but I hear they blasted the top ledge. I'll find out in a month and a half. Looks like the boys in Nova Scotia probably have some really good stuff on the coast, but who wants to go there:D I haven't had the fortune of going to Jellico yet, but I will soon and I'll give you a full report:rasta:

I'll second the vote by TrailKeeper on Big 'Cuss. I have by no means seen every hard or even every GOOD obstacle on the East Coast but I have seen the Cuss's and they aint no joke! Id say Big Cuss would be damn near impossible. I believe Ken Shuppe saw it and said he would try it if he had 3 winches, the one from his rig and 2 at the top hooked to him. Or was that full throttle?

Holy Fawk:eek:

We better have to run that in 3 weeks for ERocC. I think I just picked the right line:D Little Cuss was a bitch but that just looks plain mean:) What would the time limit be- 30 minutes;)

Are there going to be fresh obstacles this comp, or a lot of running the previous with different gates?

I'll bring my Jeep up if I can try that obstacle outside of the official competition (since I'm a spotter)

TrailKeeper

I don't see that being used for competition any time soon. Maybe in a few years if the sport matures and starts to mandate five point harnesses, neck braces, and improved cage protection - even then it would be dangerous. For now, it is just there if someone wants to try it, with proper safety precautions, like multiple winch safety lines.

We are building a bunch of new obstacles for the next event - it is amazing what a trac hoe can do! Some of the favorites will be re-used, but the gates will all be different. I would estimate that over half of the obstacles will be brand new.

For those of you wanting to compete in the next ERoCC competition June 21-23, there are only 40 spots available. You can register now online at http://www.erocc.com

i was at paragon over the weekend and walked death valley the thing is brand new. IN-F'n-SANE!!!! i cant wait to build my cj so i can run it.

there is a guy (steve) with a YJ with 14 bolt and 60 and i think 40+ " tires (dont know how high in the 40's because he sold the 38's he was running) he didnt make the whole thing had to winch.

AND

the rock crusher (big built cj portals, 44's rear steer etc BEAST) and he had to winch too.

it would rank up there its SICK!!!!!

That could be because they can't drive.

I once watched a 1/4 elliptic Sammy on 33's beat a Sniper on 40's in a crawling competition. Driver ability can make many trails easier/harder than they are for others.

He's speaking the truth, The spotter and driver can makeup for the lack of a well built rig. Just because you have money doesn't mean you know how to drive.

That's what I was thinking.
Three other guys I always wheel with took this other dude that was way more set up than we where. He couldn't make it through half of what we did.
Dumb-ass was pissed off at his rig!
Yeah right, his TJ with RE long arm, locked at each end on 38" TSL's was a P.O.S...............whatever pal.

I can voutch for the drivers on death valley they can drive. I have seen many try but all failed. The rock crusher is an awesome machine it too had to pull cable. This trail is not one to take lightly. It is just under impassible.

I am going to agree with anyone else here that has seen Death Vally at Pargon that trail is sick sick sick!!!!!!!! Charly and Steve both VERY good drivers with some mean ass rigs couldn't make the 1st part!!!!! This trail is crazy and I have a feeling that we will be hearing more about it. Oh yea and don't think it's the hardest trail in the park I am sure there is more out there that havent been found yet!!!!!!!!

But I am willing to bet it's the hardest on the east coast!!!!

Those trails are sick!!!!!!

I can vouch that Steve can definitely drive his ass around some rocks. Might be heavy on the pedal, but he's not going for points on driving grace!

What? you are saying that this pile of rocks on the side of a hill that no one has run is a trial? In that case, 9/10ths of Arizona is a big ass nasty trail. That is utter and complete B.S.
I am sorry, but anything you can just drive around can hardly be considered a trail.

I agree, it is questionable whether you can call this a trail YET, but there is a trail that goes to the bottom of it, and a trail that leads to the top of it, the two sections just haven't been joined together yet. We have permission from the land owner to create the trail. All we need is the first victi....I mean lucky contestant to try it. The trail that leads to the base of this hill is no picnic either, we have had about half the vehicles who have tried to make it just to the bottom break getting there.

We have a trail ride this weekend - who knows, there might just be a picture of a vehicle on this hill posted here on Tuesday.
