What parts interchange between the two?

I do know that the axle flange bolt pattern is the same.

The diff covers are the same

Can the whole hubs be swapped?

I did find out something interesting today.

The spindles on my D60 and D70 FF rears are the same OD, but different ID

OD 1.96"

ID 60 1.407"
ID 70 1.630.

So I guess nobody needs to worry about boring out the D60 spindles for 1.5" sgafts, as the stock D70 spindles are thinner wall than 30 spline 60 spindles.

Yep, that is why we DON'T worry about it and we say that it is OK to do so. I guess the only little thing to worry about could be the possibility of heat treatment on the ID of the spindle.


Have you checked out the differences between the bearing races and the spacing of them on the spindle? They are not all the same.
