I just purchased a Dana 60 king pin front out of a 85 chevy dually for a heck of a deal.I now have a problem with my wheel spacing, they stick out of my fender WAY to far.I've been informed that I should had bought a front axle out of a regular truck, but they did tell me that I could convert my axle to a swr(single wheel front)from a dwr(dual wheel rear)but they had no idea how to do this or what the cost might be.
So my question is:HOW DO I CONVERT MY DWR FRONT TO A SWR FRONT?
I would like to keep the front axle but I was also told that some people want to run Hummer wheels and seek this type of axle,So I would also consider a trade to someone who has a swr and is looking to convert to a dwr.
thank you Jacob

First, you should search, this has been covered at least a 1/2 million times. Second, it's in the bible. Just like the Prego commercial, it's in there!!!!!
There is also a classified section if you really want to trade. You will need to list a location.

its plain and simple. i have a drw chev 60 and i machined the outer mounting flange off and then put a mounting plate at the second flange where the rotor mounts.
the other thing u can do is go to the vendors section under axles and get the srw hubs to convert it. i think its like $450 for those. hope i pointed u in a better direction

You can go right to your chevy dealer and order the whole setup for about $180 a side. It comes with the single wheel hub, the rotor and studs all put together, just bolt it on. Only takes a couple hours.
