With the competition coming up so soon, I was wondering what everyone has been up to? Have any of you guys been making changes to your trucks? Ryeguy, did you find any other tires? What does Wolf359's cruiser look like now? The last picture I saw, it was still under construction. I know that I have been working on my truck everyday. Am I the only one not ready yet? I would probably feel a lot better if I wasn't the only one still working on stuff.

We saw one of the guys competing in the TTC out at Hollister running around.

Was he supposed to be out doing that? :D

You must be talking about the Lavender brothers Jeep. He is the only guy from California. He has probably been ther like a 100 times. That might be an advantage, huh.

Affirmative on the Lavender Brothers.

And Yep it might be an advantage but from the sound of things.

It might not make a difference :D

Might be, sept the dude can't drive for shit! He kept stopping and backing up on the mini con!

He also spent a couple of hours in the tank trap! That's a 20 minute trail for you guys.

The Pirate site rigs will kick ass! :skull:

I agree, that and he was an asshole, I scored it. About 20-25 points when the purple bandit ran it. Josh less then 10 points, lot more noise and metal to rock contact.

I'm working on the Hulk too. Not major changes, but tweaks and things that I had put off before.

Nope, no tires yet. :(

Spent the long weekend at Rock Crawl, though. Ran Doomicon twice. No breaks, some sheet metal tweaks, though. I was really happy how the truck worked.

I know that I am at a disadvantage, I haven't been wheelin' in my truck in like, uh, 9 months. I just got my first winch a few months ago. I don't get a chance to run my truck on trails much. No rock crawling experience. Yeah, I'm screwed.:D Actually, I'm not scared of any of it. I have plenty of off-road experience and if I get everything ready the way I want it, I will do pretty well.

First of all, are any of you ever finished with your trucks? Can you ever say it is done? I thought that constant modifying, fixing etc. was as much a part of the sport as the driving...:D I am sure that everyone is scrambling to dot their I's and cross their T's. But remember, it is all part of the FUN!!

Secondly, Daniel--I will be there taking pics every day and I will take some to share. I dont think there will be a way for me to give daily updates though, as I dont expect to have computer access that week. Rest assured though, you will have your action shots.

We got the CTM's in and the ARB plumbed in and have been practicing on hand signals and braking and turning radius but we'll never be done working on it. Even though were just the first alternate we still hope to get a chance to compete. Just hope it's not one of the Pirate PBB guys to drop out.

Oh, let me add that I haven't even met my spotter in person yet, but we have talked on the phone twice.

Honestly, I'm not worried about the fourwheelin events. I am more concerned with the crap like ride and drive, acceleration tests, and braking. Anyone else worried about that stuff?

We've had a blast with the stuff we've done over at Abba's. I think we sit around most of the time drinking water, Gatorade or Diet Coke and chat about it more than anything ;) The grease? Oh, um, I got that on me when I stopped to help someone broken down on the way home. Yeah. That's it.
