What's the best way to fasten a harness eyebolt(for a clip-on lap belt) to a roll cage? Could I cut the threads off and weld directly to the cage tube? The clip on the harness belt is rather small, so you just about have to use the eyebolt, but what are some options for going to the cage?
Thanks

i went through the floorboards and backed it with a 5x5 piece of .125 steel.

I have a full cage, with the seats mounted to the cage, so I have to mount the harness to the cage, a floor mount wouldn't be the best in this situation. Wish I would have the kind of harness that doesn't untilize a eyebolt, so I could just weld a tab to the cage. Thanks anyway.

Use a trick tab. This will be stronger than a flat tab. Make 'em, or get them from blue torch fab.
