94 4 runner I believe to be a G58 5 speed trans. It has been getting harder and harder to shift lately. There is fluid leaking from the bottom of the trans. and I thought it was empty, but when I removed the plug on the drivers side, fluid ran out as if it was full.
Clutch master is full, clutch slave appears wet, but not from hyd. or brake fluid. The trans is covered with fluid all over and it appears to be gear oil.
I remember reading something on here about a "shifter cone"? at the top of the trans. that might be the culprit. Clutch seems fine, it's just a battle to find gears most of the time. What's up? Is it time for an overhaul?

Sounds like the same problem I'm having with my 78. I know mine is ready for a re-build, so I'm assuming yours is too. Is it cold by you by any chance? I know cold weather makes manual trannys hard to shift too. That could be also adding to the problem.
