I just finished installing a Ed. Q-jet #1904 on my '80 today and it fired right up and purred :) Then I started messing with the idle jets without checking their original position, and got it to run pretty shitty. I ended up with about 4 1/4 turns out and it seems to be back to purring again. Does anyone have experience with these new Q-jets? What is cunfusing me is how to set the "APT". This is a "new to me" carb that was run for one day by the prior owner and he said he set the APT at one turn out, put in fat jetting and a H.P. pump. I put the jetting back to stock, put the standard pump back in, but I left the APT alone at one turn out. I've been a Holley and Carter T.Q. man for some time, but the Q.J. is new to me. Can anyone tell me everything I need to know?
