Oh no...my 40 doesn't have VSC...does that mean it's not safe to drive?...maybe I should see if Toyota would install it for me.....
Who cares...it seems to me that cars did fine before they had computers doing half the driving. If the wheels start spinning...let off the gas...I don't need the computer to do it for me thanks.
I originally requested the links 12 volt dave mentioned in another thread to disable the VSC due to my 06 Avalon having this system with no way to manually over ride it. Well here is a temp procedure that works on my Avalon and seems to work with other Toyota and Lexus cars. Might help someone here.
It is only good for as long as the engine is running and will revert back to normal op after the engine is stopped and restarted. Anti Lock brakes are not affected.
1. Make sure the car is in Park and the parking brake is disengaged before you start the car.
2. Start the engine.
3. Engage the parking brake.
4. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release.
5. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release.
6. Disengage the parking brake.
7. Fully depress and hold down the brake pedal.
8. Engage the parking brake, then disengage it (while holding down the brake pedal).
9. Engage the parking brake, then disengage it (while holding down the brake pedal).
10. Release the brake pedal.
11. Engage the parking brake.
12. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release.
13. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release.
