I put the RoughCountry 4.5" lift on my XJ not too long ago. With the new springs in the rear the e-brake cable would no longer fit in the stock brackets. Any one else have this problem? No extension brackets came with the kit. Not sure if I should make brackets or look for a longer cable off another rig?

There are a number of approaches you can take. One is to use passenger side YJ cables, they're longer than an XJ's. Another is to move the brackets that the front of the cable' attach to, then lengthen the threaded rod to reach. And another way is to make short extensions out of pipe at each rear wheel; that is what I did.
When I get arround to it, I'll replace my pipe-extended cables with a set of YJ passenger-side cables.

The short extensions sound like a nice quick fix until I can find some YJ cables. Thanks for the tip.

I Put a RE 4.5 lift on my XJ with new springs. I even added a coil spacer, and longer shackels, and didn't have any issues. It worked and rides great!
