I installed a set of ome's on my 76 year old Grandfathers 87 Sammi and they looked great for about 3-4 months...THEN...wow!Did they sag!!!The passenger side looks like the rig is lowered:roxy: (LAME)...I talked to a rep @ ARB and he said ship them back and they will look at them, but in the mean time, has any one here ever dealt with this?I understand that the passenger side will settle first,I know that o.m.e's settle a little bit more becuase they are soft or whatever...we wanted to have the softest possible ride and maintain the SUA streetability of the rig(my Grandpa is not agro...He just likes to go wheelin' a bit out in the forest)... Any thoughts...

I have had a set of Old Man Emus on my rig for about 5 years. I bought them 2nd hand and have had no noticeable sag in that time.

Old OME's are way better than the newer ones.
Mine had sagged considerably when still in SPUA, ARB/ OME didi not want to know me as the springs had not been "professionally fitted"
According to a friend of mine who used to work for OLD Man Emu, they have not made a decent spring for about 7 or so years.

Hah, isn't this funny? If somebody starts asking about lifting their Sidekick, one vendor will be in here telling you how great his OME springs are, but in a thread where somebody has a problem with OME springs, not a peep... Just an observation...

Another stupid response on the POR board. Do you ever have any helpful or informative to add..... Or is the above typical of the best you can do???

Anyway, Fam-Wagon, it's unusual for your grandpa's springs to have dropped so quickly, unless he is SPOA. You may want to contact ARB and see if they can help you with a warranty issue, 888-427-2872. Tim Lund is the warranty guy there and a Suzuki guy himself.

On lifted springs, the passenger side is always the first to settle because of how torque is delivered from the differential; as well, there is less torsional absorbtion from the shorter axle on the passenger's side.

One thing you can do is to swap sides with the springs and let the springs even out. Another trick is to pull the spring off and re-arch the individual leafs. Try to do it as a whole and you won't get too far. Pull each leaf out though and you can put each into its original arch. If you do this though, I would still recommend swapping spring sides.

As a last resort, you can add in an extra lifted leaf spring to the OME pack, but this will increase the spring rate and firm up the ride a bit which may not be to his liking.

Listen...I understand that springs will settle(you guys told me that as well when my grandpa bought the springs from you)and I have had a bit of experience with sagging springs myself but this rig looks like it's been lowwered or has way too big of tires on one side and looks allright on the other side...oohhh man does it ride rough!!!those shocks are suddenly way too short for the spring height...will be trying to get pics posted soon. The guy I talked to at ARB was Bryce...seemed nice enough and said that i need to send in the passenger springs and they will take a look at them...sooo here I go!!! Thank you for your input...:usa:

Another thing which will add to a percieved sag is if you have the rear end locked up when you turn in to park this can cause the springs to bind on the side that hasn't differentiated as it would if the diff was open. I park on an angle out the front of my house and with the rear locked up it would cause the springs to bind up givinh a 2" difference from passenger to drivers side. I spent months trying to figure out what was going on until one day I parked it the other way and it twisted that way.
