I'm thinking I'll put an off-set Wagoneer rear Dana 44 under the back of my flatfender (59" wide wms to wms). The front Dana 44 I'll narrow to the same width.
So, if you have such a combination or have some pictures, lets see them please.
I'm concerned about the axle width (tire stickout) as this Jeep is going to see a fair amont of pavement. I'm going to have a set of street wheels/ tires just to try to get them tucked under the body a little more. Police are pretty vigilant around here.
Pictures please. Especially of weenie little stock tires on 6" rims.

thanks,
Here's a pic of a Jeep I just built with widetrack waggy axles (64" wms-wms) It's on 38/12.50 TSL's and they are completely outside the fenders.

Probably not much help but here's a shot of my (ex) 43 with 77 Wagoneer Dana 44's. They're around 59-60" and don't stick out too far on 35x12.5 Baja Claws. Get some big mudflaps for the back... :D:D

here is a pic of a 53 CJ3b with scout D44's and 35 boggers. We have wheeled with him several times. Very stable.

Well its not a Flatty....But pretty close to the same size...
I have wide track waggy in the rear, with a narrowed Chevy housing up front, 37x13 boggers on a 10" rim....They stick out quite a waise!

Jeepdude_Jay, what size tires are those?
Thanks for the pictures guys. 59" looks like a good width.

Jeepdude_Jay, is that front axle narrowed at all or did you outboard the springs?

36x12.5 SXs on 8" wheels, 4.25 bs. Front axle is stock Wag ~61.5". Yes, front springs are outboard.

"Jeepdude_Jay, is that front axle narrowed at all or did you outboard the springs?"
What does outboard the springs mean? It's a dumb question to all you non-newbies but I've seen the term a few times but never heard exactly what it means.
Thanks!!!

Outboarding the springs refers to moving the spring and shackle hangers to the outside of the frame using custom brackets, this way you can run a wider axle and your spring widths can match the perches on your axle....usually much easier and cheaper than narrowing an axle.....plus I like them wide! (but thats my opinion.)
