Whatup guys. I cant find a whole lot of information on where to find those dope axles people always swap in. On what specific vehicles have you found your d44s, d60s, and 14bolt rear ends? Ive been told the dana 30 front is also pretty strong, but could it also need replacing, or is it worth just bombproofing it with stronger axleshafts and gears? Thanks in advance for any help

the dana 30 is not that strong and you will be wasting your time and money trying to build one up. Of course your axel choice depends on lots of things you haven't said. For starters, what vehicle, what engine, what size tires, what kind of terrain you plan on tackling and also how do you plan on driving it, slow and easy or drivin' it like you stole it. Also there are lots of article under the tech section, dana 60 bible, 14 bolt bible, that tells you anything you should need to know

I would have to say that I have found, used, and sold most of my axles from 72-79 3/4 and 1 ton trucks. These trucks whether they be Ford, Chevy or Dodge all had 8 lug 44's and 60's or 14 bolts. Easy to find and parts are cheap.

You, sir, are a prime candidate for a red star membership. These questions have been answered so many times that a search (one of the things that is enabled with your $20 red star membership package) will net you so much information that you'll spend weeks reading it all. It's all been done, and it's all been posted. At the top of every section is a thread titled "Support Pirate...". Get that star and search, search, search.
If you want the simple answer to your question "Where did you get your axles...?" then, in a word, the simple answer is "Currie".

Are you asking what axles to buy or where to get them?
"Which to buy?" ... lots of factors and opinions to this one. I went 60/14bolt.
"Where to buy?" ... again lots of options. I bought both off of craigslist.
As said before, buy a red star membership and do your research before spending the $$$$ on axles. You may find that 1 tons are not what you need or in your budget.
