i have a dana 44 spicer 8 lug with big style hubs, 5.13 gears and its welded, i never drove the axle before it was geared and locked and i have trouble unlocking the hubs, they are greased and i've tried some tricks such as driving it on flat ground in 2wd and turning the tires back and forth in 2wd and 4wd i've tried reversing they just dont want to come out, i know plenty of people with welded front ends and spooled front ends who can unlock their hubs easily what is the problem with my hubs?

yes they are put back together correctly and there is no broken spring or snap ring, they wont turn, if i can get them to start turning then they will come unlocked but most of the time they wont start turning, i took them apart and cleaned them good and packed them with grease so im going to try them in a few days when i finish my 350 swap into my toyota

Thats probubly your problem....you only need a very thin coating of oil on them. Packing them with grease will keep the puck from moving inside the hub...especialy in cold weather.

Are they the yellow spicer hubs? If so ditch them for nothing but spares and get you some warns. I speak from experience. The only way I could get mine unlocked was to jack up a wheel.
