So, here's my question about coil suspensions(yes, I'm a bit old skool) : Do you have to ever worry about mangling your links? Seems like they would be vulnerable, since they are so long. I know they have to be long to work well, but are they beefy enough to slide up stuff with them? :eek:

Is the correct term for them Panhard bar?

The panhard bar is the link that controls side to side moevments. On four link designs without sufficent triangulation you would need a panhard bar. They are also used up front to tighten up the steering when folks add a lotta extra linkages, like missing links, revolvers, etc.

You can sometimes bend (intentionally) the lower control link to gain clearance. See the first picture in this thread for an example.

the control arms sleaved tubing with angle iron welded to the bottom for just some extra strength they are long they havent got cought up on any thing yet thinking of putting leaf spring back on it just for around here in wa dont need a hole lot of flex for up here and i figure that leafs should do me just fine
