My motor keeps cutting out and sputtering. i have changed the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and coil so it must be the carb(i think). It has the edelbrock Q-jet. Maybe im just old./QUOTE] edelbrock rebuilds some q-jets, but i'd rather try to pour gas down the manifold my self than run a carter/edelbrock performer. if you can't find a good q-jet, go fuel-injection, if no fuely, get a holley, if that don't work, go the hell home..... florida4x4 03-01-2007, 07:11 PM edelbrock USED to make brand new q-jets. THe 1910 being the only q-jet designed with all out performance in mind. I run a 1904 which is the early style linkage and body. Bought it off ebay and the damn thing runs out real good. In fact much better than any rebuilt carb I tried from the discount auto parts stores (just don't waste time with them). So yeah most of the edelbrock are the "worthless for offroad" carter carbs but they did build a number of real quadrajet replacements.
