Ok, My 96 ram is givin me problems again. I just wanna know what you guys think is wrong. I gun it off the line, it doesent move as fast as it sould, and it maxes at 40 in first gear.. was 55 last week (3.55 gears and 33" bfg muds) then it bogs out in second gear, and third kinda too. I will gun it, it kicks into second, the engine spins, and i just kinda slow down. Also when I slow down, the engine breaks quite a bit, i have never been able to compression break with the truck in deive before. I have 71k miles on the truck, 9,500 miles on the tranny and transfer case, with a 36k warrenty from mopar. I was orignally thinking tranny, but it has never over heated or anything (have a tranny temp gauge).. so i thought maybe my cat.. or maybe a fuel filter or something.. I dont know, I am confused. Help. Garrett

I would start with the fuel filter. Its cheap and a good idea to change anyways. I have seen vehicles with 10k on the fuel filter and it be completely plugged.

Cat converter could be plugged. That kind of mileage doesnt seem to warrant a plugged converter but stranger things have happened.

sounds like a problem with the catalytic converter. they usually go out between 50 and 80K. i put a Random Technology Cat.Conv. on my 94 RAM and really like it! i also picked up a solid 2 mpg.
