Got a new motor its a 350 4-bolt main with moly rings, 10.5:1, RV cam, and other mild parts. The problem is when i go to break in the motor, i fill the rad full of coolant and wait 10 minutes for the weep holes to do their job. When i go to fire up the truck, the vaporiser freezes pretty quickly.
To prevent this, should i remove t-stat and fill with coolant them reassable and try so the vaporiser will have sufficient coolant to conver the liquid to vapor? Also, there are two adjustment screws in the base of the mixer, which one his which?
Any ideas are appreciated.Thanks

No coolant is flowing through the regulator.

If this is the same guy that E mailed me, you don't want to break in a new motor with moly piston rings on 'pane. They might not seat.

Yes i did email you, and the engine builder suggested moly rings as an upgrade.
here are pics of my set-up:

How are the water lines tied into the pane set up?
They should go from the block &/or H2O pump.
You don't want remove the thermostat because that will just let cold coolant flow into the system.
EDIT: I guess you could do it to get it flowing at first, purging the air out.
How did you fill the system?
Try taking the thermostat housing off & filling the system that way (so enough coolant is in the block).

the coolant lines go as follow:
1 line from heater core to rad
1 line from heater core to inlet on vaporiser
through vaporiser to intake.
the bubble has got to be right at the vaporiser, im thinking of installing a t right before and filling it that way.

So you don't have 2 big lines two & from your radiator?
What is hooked up to your pump? That's what circulates water, so you need a line from your pump either to the vaporizer then the heater, or vice versa.
With the way you set it up I don't think water is moving through them.
On mine, H2O flows out the lower end of the radiator (cooled) to the water pump. a small line from the pump to the heater, then back into the intake, then the thermo to to the radiator.
I'll put the Vaporizer next to the heater.

dude is very correct those rings will not seat on propane, moly rings can be a nightmare to seat proper, you need to know what youre doing, and doing it on propane damn.I dont think its a good idea to break in a motor period on propane theres some lack of lubrication issues with prpane.
