I am now runing 35" tires on my 79 ford half ton with a 4" lift, just bought a set a 38.5 tires to go on it and now need to find out if a 6" lift will work. If so will have a 4 " lift for sale or trade.

4" is plenty. just trim the fenders a bit. mines on about 5" or so with 36's and its still too high. i should be able to clear 39.5s nicely, maybe with some minor fender trimming.

Shackle flip the back and drop the upper coil buckets.. run the 4" springs and trim the body... You will be a lot happier.

I have yet to see a clean coil bucket drop
what 4" springs? I had some 6" ones that were hard as rock and I suspect most of the cheap crap is like that

id shackle flip rear and stick with stock springs. they are fine and mine flex great. i havent even started messing with the spring pack either. u can find some good lift coils for the front as well.

I'm running 38.5" tires with a 4" lift and am clearing them fine, I had to trim a tiny bit off the front fenders but it's barely noticable.
