I just use everyone elses stuff...:flipoff2: :flipoff2:

Seriously I used to carry way too much stuff. Trails I run now are all short enough to hump back to the truck and pick and choose what I need....Moab and long ass trails we use the buddy system...I carry axles and drivelines...Buddy carries hoses and belts...Etc...

The reason I carry so much stuff is that I dont like to rely on anyone else to save my ass. We sometimes wheel 40 miles from the nearest road, and several days hike from the tow rig if we break down. Im sure that much of its over kill but when I made that list I was running 38's on all 1/2 ton running gear. Since then I have upgraded to 1 ton or better so I wont have to carry things like rear axle shafts. I also wont be carrying a spare tire since they are now, too big, too heavy and way to much money!

You have to give Bgreen some slack.... There aint NOTHING in alaska..... NOTHING...... I've been there.... We drove from Ancorage to Danalli (Mt. Mckeninly) (sp?) and we didn't see a car for 2 hours..... and then an air plane landed on the road to deliver goods to the store.... Its a TRUE wilderness up their. I see a reason for him to carry all that PLUS some.....

but as for the question.... each rig is different and requires different things. On my ford I kept blowing relays.... so I carried spairs but I never carried them until they went bad..... but you just gotta look at your vehicle and what you tend to have problems with and MAKE sure you carry that and then what everybody else has said.

That funny about the plane landing on the road. That shit happens all the time up here. Probably really startles tourists. I've had to pull off into the ditch probably a dozen times so that super cub or 180 can taxi down the road :D I've even had airplanes crash into my yard (yes, more than one! Alaska has more personal aircraft then anywhere else in the world.)

Back to the subject at hand.
On some of our most popular trails its not un-common to go days without seeing another person  So we try to prepare for the worst. I carry extra tools cause you never know when you might need to help someone else.
My List (http://www.alaskaoffroad.com/hybrid.htm) is just there for people to pick through to create a list of their own if they so desire. Just like everyone else has said, on some trips I cut way back on gear. Swampy terrain I go light weight, and less tools and spares. Rocky and long distance trips, I load her up and take virtually every spare I have. :usa:
