Well the tax man was good to me and I have some cash to finally start my project. I have an 84 CJ7 and it is all stock. I already have a Chevy 350 TBI (40K miles) Turbo 400 ready to drop in a week or so. What to do next? I was thinking axles, spring over, big tires! What's the most bang for the buck to get me wheelin ASAP. I'll be driving mostly on pavement since I'm new but I want to get out soon.
Ideas?

You'd better just give me that $3k. You don't seem to know what to do with it anyhow...

Axles- but that's only because you can't buy the experience you need to drive the vehicle you're building:flipoff2:

**If this next part sounds like gibberish to you then send the money to Jake.**

You could probably luck into a 60 front from a chevy and a 14 bolt to match. Both 1-ton and super strong. Have them both re-built, geared, and locked for under $3000 (more than likely) and not have to worry about using that skinny pedal with your new tree-fiddy. Steering, wheels, and driveshafts will probably run you over $3000 by a little or a lot depending on what you want to do (if this talk seemed foreign then refer to **)

Get an atlas 2 baby! that way you have your drivetrain complete expect for the axles!, then as a temp fix get 1 piece axles and lock up your rear!

Get a set of Dana44's out of a Wagoneer (pass. side drop), pick up a set of 35" MTR's, steel wheels, gears and front-rear lockrights. SOA your rig with the stock springs for lift. Get a rear CV driveshaft.

That should spend your $3k and get you wheeling with a moderately badass rig.

Drop the engine into the jeep first. And then see how much of that 3 grand you have left. (Speaking from experience)

Since you have "money to burn" asking all of us how to spend it, I vote for this:

Buy some beer and rent a couple of hookers for the night. Use the left over dough to buy an air freshner for your jeep.

buy yourself a $500 samurai, $1000 6:1 a $250 SOA, some 32 SX's and a couple of Lock rites. You will have a nicely built zuki for less than $3K.

For jeep mods, its gonna be tight doing axles, SOA and tires for under $3k. Hell your looking at leat $1k for tires/wheels.

If your a pavement pounder, invest in some chrome shocks, some head light covers(10 xtra HP) and one of those kewl coffee can Type R tail pipes(50HP), then spend the other $2999 on a thumpin sound system:flipoff2:
