I'm gonna replace the intake manifold in my 1988 350, cause I will use a carburator ( I bought the engine incomplete, NO TBI)
How difficult is to fit a pre 1987 manifold or do I need to buy the 1987 & UP, non EGR unit from Edelbrock (# EDL 2104)????
Also, can I use the TBI distributor???

The center four bolts are at a different angle on pre '87 manifolds. You will have to ream them out to get it to work on an '88 motor. Shouldn't be too difficult, especially if it's an aluminum manifold. Can't use that TBI distributor though. It doesn't have any provision for mechanical or vaccumn advance. get yourself an HEI distributor from a non computer car and it will work nicely with your carb.
