I need the adjustment procedure for setting up a set of reman. rear ElDorado brake calipers. Don't tell me these are junk and to trash them. I don't even want to hear from you unless you have setup some of these before.

Thanks,

you need to screw in (or out) the pads until they are wider than the rotor, then ratchet down on the e-brake cable until they *just* clear the rotor. bleed well, it's common to have to use a rubber mallet to shake all the air out of these calipers. remeber to use the return spring for the caliper too. sounds stupid, but it's a common miss.

Thanks,

I have had them. I have set them up. They are junk but I won't tell you to trash them. :D

An alternative to the rubber mallet is a piece of wood/metal or what ever the same thickness (or close) to the rotor. Remove the caliper, insert wood/metal, etc. bleed, roll caliper around and bleed again.

Install, drive, then bleed again. The trick to these calipers is to bleed, bleed, bleed. Won't help the crappy ebrake though :D
I never could get the ebrake to work well. It never self adjusted.

Go to the library and copy the pages out of the chiltons or similar manual.
