you should be fine for minor recoveries. I would however install a diagnal cross brace set. From near center of winch towards the rear of the truck on the lower side of the frame rails.

I agree, when it comes to recovery points I dont think you can go wrong with more reinforcement. Nothing is worse than ripping a winch from the frame.

Where are ya gonna mount the fairlead??

there is another peice that goes on top of the bumper to make up the space where the fairlead is going to set i'll post pics later

I have a 20K PTO unit on the back of mine, its mounted pretty similar to yours, with no issues.

just 4 1/2" grade 8's on each side, two through the top of the frame, and two through the side.

i would place a strip of 1/4 bar under the frame - i have seen a set up like yours pull the bolts through the frame - our recovery truck at work is set up simmiler -

well i almost got i just have to tie the frame in better. and get a new altenator. it took a shit about five minutes after we started playing with the winch. but the battery is a five month old optima so i guess i should have known that the alt would shit first

put a gm one wire alt in it, thats what I run, ya cant beat it, you can get the right off the shelf with 100 amp at the parts store, they are internaly regulated and best of all they charge 100% all the time once you energize them.

what do i have to do with the wiring to get rid of my regulator and use a GM alt?
