: How bad are the vibrations w/ your poly engine and trans mount?

Installed some poly mounts for motor and trans and I have a vibration when I am in the gas. Its no terrible but noticable, and I know that you will feel more when you use them. It is not the tires either. Let me know if you had any when you changed over.

I am trying to narrow it down on what is making it vibrate. It sucks when you modify it all at once. Along with the mounts I installled:

Front
4.56
aussie
yukon chromo's w/ super joints

Rear
4.56
detroit
BIG 35 kit

Trans
SYE kit (this is my other thought on vibration)

I have poly motor and trans mounts.. much more vibration than when they were rubber.

When you replace a worn out mount which transmits very little vibration to a new bushing, whether it be poly or rubber, its going to transmit more vibration no matter what.

Poly is stiff so it will transmit a little more vibration... But on the flip sside it looks like you are running a dana 30 and a 35 in what? A YJ, TJ? Your vibes may be coming from elsewhere. If I did guess the vehicle correctly, then your 4.0L shouldn't produce all that much vibration anyway.

Sorry about that it's a TJ w/ 4.0! I guess that the vibration is coming from the driveshaft. This might be a stupid question but if the gears are setup incorrectly would that make a vibration when you are in the throttle? It must be gears or driveshaft.

I have poly motor and trans mounts.. much more vibration than when they were rubber.

Me too, SBC, NV4500, and STaK...much more vibration, though not objectionable. Feel it most on hard acceleration on the street.

New mounts produced more vibration than usual at idle in mine also (4.0 l, AX 15). It really gets noticable with the AC on. All summer long, I end up hating the vibe at idle at lights but when it's a 140° outside, what else are you going to do?

Alright 7 month review.

Everything works great. The vibration is nothing just freaking out a little bit.
For any body going to poly mounts my vote is YES.

Thanks everybody.
