My '89 YJ 4.2 is dying. After 226,000+ miles, its finally had enough. The main bearings are the most obvious noise, but i'm sure there's other stuff going bad too.
Anyway, i'm on the hunt for a 4.0 to either 1) swap in, or 2) pull the head and stick on my 4.2 (after its rebuild).
If you know of a 4.0 in good shape with as much of the "extras" as possible (Charcoal canister, airbox, computer for manual trans, etc), let me know, cheers.

Most people(NEWBIES)would know that you dont look in the wanted section for something to buy since the person posting wants that item.. If they wanted to sell it they would post it in the "FOR SALE" section.. This crap belong in the wanted section not the tech section:flipoff2: :flipoff2: newbie.. Did you try the junkyard? that's usually where you find engines. they hide the 4.0's in these little boxes they call cherokees. They are extremely difficult to find I think they only made about 5 zillion of them. :D
