Guys,

I need some help. I have a 90 F150 2wd with a 302 and automatic. comming home from chili challenge my truck was very intermittently dying like the key had been turned off, then right back on. then yesterday it stalled at a stop light. it would turn over but no fire. after a couple of minutes it fired right up and ran fine. then 15 - 20 min later did the same thing. I got is home and parked it, but don't know where to start looking since it is not consistant. I can hear the fuel pump as I crank it over and it really seems electrical to me but I don't really know. Fuel filter is not that old. anyone else ever had this happen. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure your intank pumps are working (if equiped). Just had the same problem/issue and come to find out both intank low pressure pusher pumps were bad and not providing fuel to the high pressure pump.. Just a suggestion..

thanks,

I feel dumb but is there an easy way to do that and it does seem to be doing it on both tanks, another reason I thought that it might be electrical but now I will definately check them. can I pull the lines in front of the inline pump and see if they pump from the tank?

my truck did that when the in-tank pump was going out. when it wouldnt start, we would tap on the tank and the pump would start up... have someone listen for it to turn on. The CORRECT way would be to buy a pressure gauge and hook it up... Just an experience i had... Then it died on me wheeling:D
