Anyone got a locker in their Dana 44 Ram 1500? Seems like my next logical mod although some would argue lift as well. It seems like autos tend to lead towards carnage, I like the Ox but don't know of anyone who's installed with the single c-clip front axle in the Dodge. 4.10 gears by the way.

Hey RamV -
This is JasonB from the other Dodge boards. I suggest you get your flame suit on and seek cover immediately....
Thanks for the suggestion, I've recgonized your posts, I've browsed this board many times before, I guess I know what to expect, not really sure why though, its not like the number of posts you have is related to your ability to wheel or wrench.

It does not matter.... When are you going to be posting the pics of your Ram running Lower Helldorado and Pritchet?
And to answer your original post, the OX is being used by a few people here. Most folks like them that have them. There are not clips in the front D44 on the Ram, at least not in my 97. I am considering just throwing a SoftLocker in the front end of my truck. Simple and quiet and inexpensive. Hell, even a mini-spool would work with the CAD.
I would prefer a selectable locker though for highway driving in the snow though. ARB, OX or the Tractech eLocker whenever it comes out.
As soon as a few friends get their's posted. (So I can steal them) Also if you look very closely in Michael's (belly dragger) you can see my outline in fornt of him.
I was under the impression that their was a single c-clip on the passenger side retaining the half axle that goes to the CAD. The Eaton E-locker sounds promising, as Petersen's has been testing one and the ad appear in Fourwheeler, however it was called a "drop in" locker there and I know for the 9.5" 14 bolt Chevy, its a full replacement carrier.
Pictures will be coming soon

That is cool that you got to run with BellyDragger. That is a sweet Amigo.
I was actually refereing to the Detroit Electrac (could not recall the name at the time I replied previously and always get this and the ELocker mixed up) It is a LSD until you charge it and then it locks up fully.

Unbolt the unit bearings and the axle shafts, on both sides slide right out. Pull the CAD cover to get to the inner passenger shaft.
The top axle is the outer passenger shaft. The large teeth are for the CAD ring. The inner shaft has matching teeth and a "nub" that rides a hole in the end of the outer shaft to keep them aligned so the CAD ring can slide over. The inner shaft is supported by the bearing in the axle tube up against the CAd housing. The outer shaft has only the seal in the tube against the CAD housing.

Cool, I really hadn't pulled apart yet but someone listed specs (believe it was Tractech) as having a single c-clip. So does that mean any std rot 44 locker will work? The Ox is only offered in one diff split, is that the low one? 3.92s and deeper? The Detroit Electratrach sounds promising however, it was supposed to have been released in November and I haven't seen anything on it yet. I'm still waiting for the Powertrax Command Locker for my '93 Ranger, which has long since been sold with open diffs. I'm more confident the Eaton will be available, if not I'm leaning towards the Ox.
Yeah, I was out of place on Helldorado, me and two Amigos, both sporting live axle swaps, f/r ARBs, Marlin twin cases, coilover suspensions (well Corbin's is front only), and 37" and 38.5" Swampers.

Don't know much about the OX as I have a custom steering linkages and they won't clear an OX cover so I quit considering it.
The D44 in the Ram is no different than the rest in terms of center section.
Out of place or not, you ran it and finished it with minimal carnage...
