Im gonna check mine tomorrow. Mine came off a 77/78 F250, cant remember which exactly(definitely not a 76 tho). So the 79, did you get the discs fitted to it?? What part#'s ya use?? How much??? Im gonna do this in a few days or a coupla weeks when the Money is right. Thinking about going with the BlackBirds Custom Trucks kit if I cant get exact part#'s & cost. Theres is like under $300, plus Ive gotta adapt the rubber hose(to braided stainless) & get a longer one.

I went with TSMs kit and got the loaded calipers and rubber lines from them too.

Hey thanks cory. That's good stuff. Certainly isn't much difference.

Do both spindles use the same size bearing? And do you recall if the actual bearing hubs were the same?

I wonder if..due to that difference in spindle length was the cause of many people not recommending TSM, there was a write up on Offroad.com & the fella had problems with spacing, had to build his own spacer or something. Im on my way out the door to check mine right now.

The spindles do use the same size spindle nuts, so I guess the bearings are the same size.

I'm using the hubs from the 76 F250 D60, so they are the same.

The rear axle I aquired is not that common, but I suppose someone could have gotten their hands on one.

The problem with this axle was that when I had the rotor and hub together and the bracket on that there wasn't enough space on the spindle to get the outter wheel bearing on. So a spacer would have just made it worse.

to check the spindle length but dont have the right size spindle nut socket, what size is it. well at least i just verified the axleshafts are 30spline. :D Thatll do for now. .Im now looking for a bolt on caliper bracket as I really dont want to weld it.

Spindle nuts are 2 9/16" I believe.

The axle you had is not the same one I have. I had been to the junkyard several weekends in a row & did find several differences in Ford D60 rears. Some had a thick hub flange & some had a thin hub flange too. I think the the thick type hub flanges are the 16spline type. I only had a slight gap after I fitted my calipers on the rotor for the rear disc brake conversion. It was like a little thicker than 1/4 in steel plate, perhaps 3/8in steel plate. Thanks for the help CoryL. :http://mediaservice.photoisland.com/auction/Jun/20026101747709564657759.jpg

BTW, I did use 3/4 ton Chevy front rotors from a 78, but all the part#'s are the same from like 74-88.
