a couple people said i do..then a few said i dont. they have a cast image of like 2 camel back himps...thats what my friend said meant they were camels. but the guy who said theyr not said because they have surfaces for accesories (like bolt holes and a flat part for a braket or sumthin on the front)

it makes no difference to me, i didnt buy it because someone said it had em, in fact the guy i got it from never mentioned it. so i dunno...im over it:flipoff2: :rasta:

Here's a fuelie (camel hump) head on my Camaro. Notice the double humps and no holes for accessories or brackets. These heads were off of a '62 Corvette.

I used to have a set of those, 202 "camel backs"......had really bad valve guides and I was a broke teenager who couldn't affort to get new guides so I traded them for a carrier I needed for my Nova.
The dumb things we do as kids.

2.02 is a designation never applied to streetable heads.

The camel humps head face was the issue from pre-smog years, i.e. 1972. After that, the humps sometimes appeared "above" the boss' for accessories, and sometimes did not even appear.

All the heads people say are 2.02s, were originally 1.94s from the factory, with an allowable reamage of 2.02.... and if they were NOT reamed, they're NOT 2.02s.

I miss my old vette and chevelle motors too. :D

What are the numbers on the head?

I used to have some "462" castings, that I think were off a fuelie 'Vette with a 327....
If they don't have holes for accessories on the drivers side head they are '64 and older (I think 64 is the cut off)

Enough of the BS. :flipoff2: Go here: http://www.mortec.com/castnum.htm You'll note from the first two entries (and more) that 2.02 intake valves did, in fact, come from the factory. Also you'll see that "camel hump" castings came both with and without accessory holes. "Fuelie" is a term derived from the original application of the "camel hump" casting mark - early fuel injected corvettes. It's been used on several different heads since then, but all were good performers.

I had a set of the 1.94 heads had the casting mark like the picture cmegoup posted. They were sometimes referred to as "double hump" heads. Had straight plugs and 64 cc chamber.
Would have liked to have the 2.02 slant plug variety.
Those 1.94's sure would run though.
