I have an 88 soft top (pre 88.5) in Rocklin, CA to trade for your Tracker / Sidekick. I will consider any 4WD 2 or 4 door (Prefer automatic, A/C). Willing to travel for the right deal.

Will even sell for cash if someone offers the right price.

What I have to offer:
* Used Trail Tough YJ SPUA lift kit (not installed) with missing links and YJ springs.
* Hood and drivers rear 1/4 panel have paint fade, rest of paint is very nice.
* NO RUST! I can't find any body cancer on it anywhere.
* Engine is running very string, has no problems with freeway speeds.
* Clean interior
* New Battery
* New 3 core radiator (stock is only 2 core)
* Vent tube that fixes flat spot in stock carbs
* New Plugs / Cap / Rotor

I purchased this sami from a friend who works at a salvage yard, so it will come with salvage title. The man that sold it to them thought he'd blown a head gasket (LOTS of steam looked like it was comming from head). Turns out it was a $1 coolant hose that comes up to the carborator to help warm it up during cold starts.

Odometer reads 54k miles. I have a hard time believing an 88 would have this low of miles. But it's such a CLEAN sami, and the engine is running very strong, so I have a hard time believing it's got 154k miles. You be the judge.

Pics are with my old hard top that had to be thrown out (it was in really bad shape). It's a soft top now.

Offer would have to be enough for me to realistically purchase a Tracker / Sidekick in similar condition / mileage.

I'm not sure what you mean by "let me know where you stand on this though". I thought I've been clear: I prefer to trade the Samurai, but if I have to sell it and buy a Trackick I will. I'd consider selling it for $2500.

The discription & pictures above are pretty clear about the condition of the vehicle. If you have specific questions, I'd be happy to answer them. If you want more pictures, or a picture of something specific let me know and I'll get them to you.

I've owned a 87 sami before, and loved it but had to sell it. I started looking again a few years ago, and it took me a while to find a Samurai that looks this clean, and runs so well. Usually it's the "little things" that make a Samruai so expensive to own... replacing door panels, window cranks, locks, door handles etc. Not with this Samurai - it's still in great condition.

The carpet, body, factory seats, rear view mirror, sun visors, pading around the roll bars - they're all original and working superbly. The only thing I'd do is re-cover the factory rear seat (which are very rare to find as well) and have a detailer buff out the paint on the hood / drivers rear 1/4 panel.
