Need your insight / experiance.

New project will have a YJ frame on 1 ton running gear topped with an aluminum SWB Land Rover body.

So who has planted a diffeent body on a yJ?

What are the gotchas?

All help appreciated

I think Eric Ruhl put a CJ body on a YJ frame. Might search his name here or his site: www.colorado4x4.org He made several posts here during the entire swap.

I have a streched 1948 willys body on a narrowed and shortened YJ frame with one ton gunning gear.... does this count?
There are some pic's of the buildup on my site

http://ottindustries.com/Willys_Story.html

A few of the things I ended up re-doing from the original setup was to remove the front tube completely... move the steering box forward and to cut off the original rear shock mounts (the way they sit on the frame they are a huge rust trap...) my frame was off of a '92 and was from B.C. and there was still rust under there.

The story has yet to be up dated with the new stuff, there have been some rather large changes to the drivetrain on the Willys in the form of 4.3 V6 , 14 bolt rear and Dana60F... got rid of the under seat gas tank and went to an aluminum fuel cell in the rear.
sold the 35's and moved up to 38's etc...

Sweet rig Chris!

Hey - when are you boys at OTT going to build us a Candian 203/205 doubler?

I'll take a Ford 203 (fits to my T18) connected to a Chevy twinsticked 205 (so I can stop the futile search for an RCD60 and just use a crummy Chevy passenger drop D60 front)
