Hi everyone..I just installed a RCD 6" lift on my 2000 Silverado. Since installing the lift I now have a noise generating from around the CENTER of the truck. It sounds like when an owl go's HOOT.

Only happens upon initial take off in a forward motion, not in reverse.

If I take of soft or hard I get the noise.

I jumped up and down on the tailgate, no noise.
I greased the springs thinking it was that...no help
I made sure shocks were not rubbing...all OK
I put the truck in park, push the truck back and forth..no noise

Tranny mount is good and tight

HELP!!!!!

Could be your bushings...Sometimes it takes a little time for them to break in...
I would go through all bolts, mounts, check for security and loose components. Did you overtorque the bushing mounts?
Have a buddy look over your truck while you go forward, maybe they can see something your missing.:skull:

I fornd out that th enoise was coming from the rear driveshaft slip yoke! Seems that GM has a TSB out on this as well. All I did was pull the driveshaft, applied some antiseze compound to the yokes splines (driveshaft portion), re installed....noise gone!

What is was is that the factory didn't apply any lube to these splines causing a noise (kinda like when you go to BURGER KING get a large soda, put the straw into the "X" cutout and move the straw up and down)

Anyway...Thanks!
