: 44 Boggers on stock hummer rims

so does anyone have pics or experiences with a wide tire like this on a stock hummer rim? The only mod to the hummer rim would be custom centers with Mog bolt pattern. When the center is welded in I would have it set at 4" BS keeping the beadlock system intact and functional. So I'd like to see some pics of similar tire width/rim width combos. I want to see how much the tire "balloons" out away from the rim. I also want to see how much it affects the tread contact with the ground.
Thanks,
Travis

Not a bogger, but still a 44x18 or so:

It seems as if you would'nt be able to air down a tire that wide on a rim that narrow without the tire rolling over on it's side.

I will be putting some 44's on mine tomorrow. They are TSL's. Will post some pics of the crown, sidewalls and low pressure pics outside if it will quit raining. :D

So how 'bout those pics? Just bought my 44 Boggers and now focusing my attention to wheels. Probably gonna use Hummer rims. The only thing I have reservations about is sidehilling with low p.s.i. and having the sidewall fold over on itself. I've seen it a couple times and the narrower the rim the more exaggerated it will be. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Travis

I saw that thing roll this weekend. Tore 2 44" boggers, bent a coilover tower, and a couple links, i think. All within the first five minutes on the new insanity trail at the Bigdogs event in Virginia.

Do you think the roll or the tearing of the Boggers had anything to do with the wide tire on narrow rim? Did the sidewall fold over onto itself? Also, where did the tires tear. With the major siping on the tread, maybe the siping went too deep? Help me out here. I didn't just spend $1700 on tires to ruin them.
Thanks,
Travis

What I think happened was that the tire rolled over the rim, and the rim sliced the sidewall. It probably wouldn't have happened with a Trailready style, cause the ring is thick, and rounded on the edge. The gash was on the sidewall, so the grooving had nothing to do with it.

Sorry about that Travis. I had to order new o-rings for mine and then I got busy. Here are the pics. BTW I saw at least 3 rigs running them this weekend at pro rocks. Yes they did fold over but this was with the full weight of the rig on almost one tire. The bottom pic is an example. :D

does anyone know what kind of tire pressure this guy was running at the time because that would have a big effect on the rolling of the tire?

Is that buggy on 44" boggers Charlie Melchner's new ride? (He's from the NYC suburbs- JD's off-road i think)

After running with him in the Ramsey challenge last year he vowed to come back with a more competitive ride. His last one he called the Crusher and the link said something about crusherengineering. just curious!
