I have a 3.8 Buick V6 in my toy with 2" pipes coming off the manifolds and ending right after my FROR cross member at the moment...

Should I run an X Pipe, H pipe, no crossover

And where to place the cross (if any) before or after the mufflers

Mufflers closer to the manifolds, or further away?

What produces the deepest sound?

H-pipe closer to headers makes higher end power, H-pipe closer to tips makes low-end power...

You decide.

Well, since it is an off-road DD truck, it HAS to be low-end :)

I like the 2 into one setup for wheelin. I have a 327 with about 350HP running centerdump manifolds into 2" pipe that crosses under the oil pan and connects with the other side and increases to 2.5". About 2' of pipe then a 3 chamber flowmaster and another 2' of 2.5" to the end.
Good sound and lots of power down low. Decent on the highway but great back pressure while wheelin.
I've heard setups with the muffler close to the end of the pipe and closer to the engine and I think the ones closer to the end of the pipe sound better. Systems with the muffler closer to the engine sound tinny to me.
