Stay away from CTBrent

Sent him money for a downpayment awhile ago. About 3 to 4 weeks after sending him the money I drove out to CT with the rest of the money to pick up a trailer and samurai tub. Got out there started looking things over and wasnt to impressed with the trailer at all that he said was in good shape. He Told me there was brakes on both axles which there was only brakes on one axle. The wiring on the trailer was a mess which he had told me before but he said an ice storm in canada ripped the wires off the alxes for the trailer brakes. How could the ice have ripped off the wiring on the axles when only one axle has brakes. Other than that he didnt even know what size ball the trailer took. I asked him if it was 2 5/16 and he said it was. It ended up being a 2inch ball. All in all he wouldnt take anything less for the trialer and tub. I figured maybe $100 for not having the second trailer brakes. So he told me he would send me my downpayment back to me in 2 weeks from when I left there.He had to wait for his next payday. It has been over 2 months now and I have only got one email from him and no money. When selling somehting dont most of the time you know what it is that you are selling and the details about it before selling it? Well he didnt know anything. Just a warning for the rest of the people out there DONT DO BUSSINESS WITH HIM. I am not sure what im going to do about it yet, but I might have to take a trip back down there.:mad3:

stupid question.. if he agreed to refund your down payment.. why didnt you just subtract that amount from what you owed him and leave happy?
still sucks to be told one thing and the person not follow up.

That would have been a great idea...but I never took the trailer or the tub. Just seem as if there was somthing else he didnt want to tell me about the trailer. So I have nothing and he has my money.

Got a hold of him today...or should I say he got hold of me through email. It 'appears' he's had some family trauma and said he'd make good. I'll let you know in 24 hours if he comes through, as that's when I told him to give me a tracking number or I'll take other steps through credit agencies and law enforcement.

When you alk to him let him know that the kid that was going to buy the trailer is still waiting for his $350 too. Thnaks alot and yeah if we gotta go to his house im in.

He has delivered the rims. I told him he has a pissed customer on Pirate4x4 that wants $350 back for a trailer. Hopefully he'll make right by you.

No sir, I did not. I told him he needs to make "peace" with the guy that gave him money for the trailer on the Pirate forum. He unilaterally decided to drop the rims at my house, a 5 hour drive instead of UPS em. Fine with me.
