Got tired of my Toyota pump always spewing fluid. Here'a few pics, more on my site. Initial impression is good, feels easier to turn sitting on flat ground. We'll see how it works in the rocks this weekend.

While I was under there I noticed a little extra carnage from Asylum. Dropped the skid plate and the tcase went with it.

Cool.

I'm going "shopping" tomorrow for an Toy 4x4 IFS steering box (talk about a bitch to find.. :)

I'm still debating - saginaw (remote resevoir, from a caddy (they are easy to find) or toy. I'm headed towards the Caddy, for simply one reason - flow rate and pressure. :)

The reason for remote resevoir, is I'm also going to try and squeeze a Sanden compressor in, so I've got a compressor with good CFM. (I hate dc powered compressors, and as nice as CO2 is, you can still run it out..)

Do you know the flow rates on the Toyota pumps? I have been looking. Only thing I could find was a blurb on a website which said the older pumps were designed for 650-900psi, the later model cars typicaly have pumps rated for 900-1400psi. Price is a big factor, rebuild kits are $11, or you can pick up a pump w/ resevoir from Autozone for $60 already rebuilt an with a resevoir (I looked up a mid 80's Dodge van). I paid $23 at the junkyard.

trying to find flow rates on PS pumps has been hard; I think you've found about the only thing I've found.

I'm leaning towards the caddy pump, for the large, remote resevoir, and availablitity of parts is kinda second for me.

I've heard to use the older caddy saginaw pumps then due all the voodo tricks to em and they'll be the same if not better than the AGR stuff

Well, the AGR sticker on the side of your rig is worth a couple hundred psi :D

for sure but thats one expensive sticker :D

the caddy pumps are suppose to have a much bigger piston then the standard pumps so with drilling out the fitting and reworking the spring they're suppose to put out a lot of volume as well as pressure.

Worked sweat. I cut my hand open on Friday night with the grinder, had to go to the ER and get 8 stitches so I was hoping the new pump would work good or else wouldn't be wheeling much. The pump worked awesome all weekend. Huge improvement over the Celica crap. We ran a good mix of trails with Wayne Flower and some of his fellow club members from California. I had ran all of the trails before with the old setup so it was a good comparison. Anyway, after this weekend hydro assist isn't as much a priority anymore.

Cool. Sorry to hear about your hand. Still using the Celica box though right?
