Id like to know what everyone is using for Caliper Supports on their D60 rear disc conversions. I would like a bolt on bracket so Im hoping the chevy 1/2 ton calipers supports will do.

Homemade caliper brackets. The type of dana 60 you have will play a bit of a factor. If you don't understand, then call TSM and pull out the plastic.

I don't know about bolt on brackets... but everyone I know is using some after market weld on backing plates. I used them on my 9", seen them used on a 14 bolt and a 60. No problems, real easy to use and they accept chevy 10 bolt calipers (Chevy bigs) adn Chevy IFS rotors. If I had a digi cam, I'd post pics. I got mine from Bent and Twisted 4 wheel drive 530-342-3003

I used caliper brackets for big Chevy brakes from AFCO http://www.afcoracing.com/

That caliper bracket doesn't look like any of the ones on the AFCO site. Do you have a part number for it? Does it position the caliper in the correct location for the 3/4 ton rotors?

Those are '79 Chevy 3/4 ton rotors mated to Dana 70 spindles.

Contact Matt at http://www.westtexasoffroad.com he sourced them for me from Philipe Automotive in San Angelo, TX he is an AFCO dealer. If I recall they were under $15 each.

I used 1/2 ton backingplates that I had sitting around and cut the bottom off the braket so I had a C hole insted of a cirlce hole. The I just welded up the gap and welded it onto the axel. Been working great for 3 months on my dd/trail rig.

Is that because the 1/2 ton brackets are for the smaller diameter 1/2 ton rotors so you needed to mount them a little higher off the axle to account for the larger diameter 3/4 ton rotor?

I will probably do something similar to what you did, but I do have the 3/4 ton backing plates so I just need to slip them over the spindle and weld them on. No lifting needed.

Thanks.

Ive made up my mind & am going to get some 3/4 ton backing plates & calipers. I will post pics once I get done. Ill probably do like YJTJ did & get the DODGE rotors with the higher "hat" so that I can slip it over the hub rather than take the chance of any lugs coming loose & spinning in place whn I try yot remove lugnuts. TJBOB :flipoff2: backatchabro!
