: IFS frame notching for front axle

Since I'll have to be doing this with my IFS frame, I'd like some insight from those who have already had to do this. Pics and measurements would be appreciated. :)

hey ed. well with the IFS frame, depending on your springs, you might need to notch for the drag link on the pass side. i notched mine a while back, but since then i changed my front springs and the axle moved. so now my notch is in the wrong place. only if you run really flat springs and you are going to let them over arch, do you need to notch. i am running about a 4" lift and i barely scrape my IFS frame.

mine just kisses the frame rail when super flexed out. I didn't bother notching it.

ya, save it for last. when you are happy with your springs and axle placement. you can do it way later. like pook said, mine does it enough to scrape the paint off but it doesnt bind against it.
