got my notice so it is time to hit the ref - what is the rule for cat's? Factory had 4 but I only put 2 back on, thinking of going with aftermarket onces since I heard with those you only need 2?
Was gonna get the catco $62 ones in the summit catalog. I also need a custom speedometor cable to go from the autometer speedo to the ford speed sensor to the toy tcase. Any suggestions on where to go?

I used to have a 5.0 mustang. It is legal to go from the factory 4 cats to 2 as long as they are CARB approved.

as far as smog requirements go i have no help (I live in Alabama, no smog)
But for a spedo cable call Autometer. they work closely with a company that will make you anything that you need.

cal the ref B. i heard before that it had to be the same design as the engine was set up for.(2 cats is fine if you get the bigger 2 for 4 replacements). but now i have also heard it has to be the same as it was from the vehicle your putting it in. legal reasons, like they cant make you add a second cat cause they would be liable if it caused a fire or something. but id call to be sure.

Yup cetain brands can let you loose the percat, I forgot witch ones, but the Ref knows, along with a good exhaust shop guy will know

Take your car to a ghetto smog shop where they dont know/care what kind of cats you have as long as it passes the numbers. Works for me

Because of the 5.0 swap, it ahs to go to a referee, how could you explain an EFI v8 in a truck that was only available with a carb'd 4 cyl to a ghetto smog shop??????

My buddy had a supercharged 5.0 Mustang with no cats. He passed as the car was a clean runner and the smog guy never looked under the car! This was in California so he was damn lucky. Guess the guy was to lazy to look under a lowered car and must have figured who would be stupid enough to bring in a modifed car with no cats! I thought he was nuts.
