im in the process of eliminating the vaccum in the front axle of my 1990. The way ive chosen to do this is to install a 1 piece shaft from a tj. Ive gotten the outer shaft, along with the shift collar out but i cannot get the inner shaft out. shouldnt i be able to just pull it out? Or do i need to go into the diff and get it out that way? how is it done?

does no one know how to do this?

When these were assembled from the factory there was a clip inside the differential there to hold the shaft in during assembly while going down the line. If the shaft has never been pulled before you will have to pop the cover and get the clip out.

Otherwise it should pull right out.
