so heres the deal , i am pulling my carrier and and it really seems like it does not want to come out of the case ,so is there some trick or am i just retarded

The correct way to do it is to use a case spreader and open up the housing .020" or so.

I always just use a crowbar to pry it out. One trick I have heard of is to put a shop rag in between the ring and pinion contact point and spin the pinion yoke with a socket.

Yes, case spreader is what you need, however, a set of prybars will work too.

Works like a charm. I have probably pulled my carrier 50 times like this and has worked every time.

Shop rag method has never worked for me.
I like to use 2 prybars and pry from the ring gear bolts

i welded up a rebar "halo" around the edge of the housing and made 2 arches out of rebar that touch at the top of the arc. then i welded a bolt that fit a big 2 jaw puller and now i just grab the housing with it. took me 5 minutes to biuld it.:D
