Hi Guys-

I just bought a 3 door Suburban (1971) 1/2 ton, 4 wheel drive. I'm assuming that makes it a K10.

The plan is to box the frame, put a D60 in the front Corp 14 or D80 in the back with a '07 or '08 Durmax, Allison, and t-case...

Also need to figure out suspension set-up for front and rear... Link vs spring configuration. I will haul to Bonneville and Pismo from Los Angeles.

Once I have the hardware done, the rest will be a frame off resto...

I will preface my question by saying that I lurk mostly in the Toyota LC Forum.

I love PBB, but is this the right forum to use as a resource for this build?
Or, would I be better off working with a number of sub-forums from other sites?

I don't really know the feel of the chevy group on PBB...

Thanks

Seth

Yeah I wish you guys (Pacific Fab) would do Duramax stuff... I really like the set-up for the '07 Vortec you made for me.:smokin: I'm putting that into a Land Cruiser.

Im just the web guy. :p

Have you talked to Kevin about doing a harness or what not or a dmax? Im sure he could do it if he had a complete motor and harness.

This is the big gay mud truck section of PBB. As long as you've got 14" of lift and 52" Michelins, you're good.

Quick mental checklist:

1971 K10 'Burb...GM

Dmax/Alli combo....GM

I think you may have hazarded the correct forum.

Although, if you really are serious about this swap (not just daydreaming about diesel swaps like SO MANY on this BB), you may want to put it in Gen4x so you can accumulate more "I like it, you must have a gigantic package" type comments.
