I finally had some time to get up the CC '02 pictures (just those taken by Sandi). These are the best shots. Sorry so late.

Bill,
The Nemesis 3 pics came out great. And, of course, the mog pics are awesome!

SWEET SWEET SWEET!!!!

Man those trails are awesome.

Great photos Sandi! Now we need to get you a camera that can take 3-4 shots in a row so we can see how that tan Jeep looked on it's roof! (did it go over? It looked like it was cuh-lose!)

Anyway...

SUUUHWEEET!

That tan (Cummins 4bt powered) CJ was quite interesting to watch. He tried really hard to make it over Nemisis 3 that day, and reached that position at least 2 times before clutching and coming back down. He had amazing control and really pushed it to the extreme. I was impressed.

ps. I redid the page again, and upgraded the picts to 800x600, cuz they look to small on my browser.

We actually need a camera that does a better job with lighting. This Nikon Coolpix 950 does not do a very good job with lighting adjustment. If we take pictures of our D90 (bright yellow), it tends to take a light reading off of the bright aspect of the truck to the exclusion of the black accents (wheels, tires, bumber, undercarriage).

It has plenty of manual adjustments, and a manual mode, but it is cumbersome to program, and slow to use.

It would also be good to have a camera with a bigger memory buffer, so we could take a more full resolution shots in sequence, instead of waiting for the camera to write each shot onto the CF card (it will take almost continuous pictures at lower resolutions, but not at the highest (delay is about 2-3 sec. between shots)).

Anyway, sorry for the offtopic post (althought offroad LR photography I guess is on topic).

Thanks for any suggestions,

Blister

ps. Mike, wanna sell one of your "old" machines?

Bill, I thought this was funny, especially after the pic I sent you last night.

"ps. Mike, wanna sell one of your "old" machines"

I wasn't sure if you were talkin' cameras or rovers! Hehe.

I don't want to push you guys into spending yet *more* money on more toys, but I think that Sandi deserves only the best (here's where I'm kissing your butt for favors later Sandi) money can buy.

I'll think about what 'old machines' I can part with.

Later,

Michael

hey bill, how loud and rattly was the motor? did it sound like the cummins in a dodge or more like the isuzu diesel in an NPR box truck? thanks.

Not too bad, although he mostly idled through stuff :)
It did have one helluva cloud of black smoke when he started it in the morning.

Also just finished putting up the picts from CC '01. Remember Greg J. getting brained by that rock on Rocotillo?

ps. I should stay more up to date with our website, now that I figured out that I can mass change picture resolutions and jpeg compressions in a folder, and use the FP2002 picture album function to post picts.
