Well simply put, It is stuck on the fastest setting. Knob spins fine, I just can't control the line speed. Any Ideas on what to look for, I know shit about electonics. But if someone has an Idea of something simple it could be I would love to test that avenve first before spending a ton on repairs.
Thanks

Couple of things I can think of, first off is the 180 infinit wire speed? According to their web site, it looks like it, but its hard to tell from the pics. First I would check to make sure the knobs set screw is still tight, it might be stripped and just spinning on the shaft. If it is infinite adjustment, then the wire feed is a potentiometer, it could have gone bad, sames holds true if it is a multi position switch, but it is less likely. And lastly, it could be the circuit board that drives the feed motor, but I would check the first two first. There is a hobart welder forum run by hobart, that has lots of techs on it that might be able to give you test proceedures.

The 180 is an infinite adjust wire speed machine. I'd bet the wire speed Pot is shot.

Call Hobart, I have heard they have superb support. They may just send you the new part N/C.
