the sluice was a little wet making lines slippery and a little tougher....this was the second run for the buggy and still had to test the buggy and get usedto it....I went through the box 11 times trying every line the 35 bfgs would grip to (couldn't get MTRs in time), then spotted my 13yr old sister through 3 times

i thought your lil sis did a better job than you... J.K.. your rig makes it look too easy. it was a lotta fun out there except for all the broken rigs and the two full sizes with open diffs holding up
the trail.

yea those guys were coming in when I was leaving at the gatekeeper..it was funny I overheard some girls that were with them gasping about how " and this is only the beginning" .....then after they powered through there for every inch (the speedo must have read 55mph) I crawled through twisting it up to show them some real hampster power :D .....if I had another seat I would have taken the women with me :D

and out of that 11 tries I did have to work pretty hard for three of those runs at the beggining of the box but was never denied...those holes got deep and those little 35's were making it a good challenge....so if you saw any of the other eight runs the buggy walked it...I tried everyline I could think of....my sister even took a line that I saw no one hit.....

not weighed yet.....but making it lighter, ripped the fender after rolling off the crack line them 10 foot further rolled it driving up the wall to get in position and ripped off the plexiglass on the side :flipoff2: it will be weighed soon

if you guys really want it weighed PM Snowball telling him to get the key for the scalehouse behind the shop...that would get him off his arrsss :D

even though you run the super birfs, have you considered using two toy rears and having hydro (in the centre, on a pivot) and turning the rig from the centre like end loaders and so forth? to get rid of teh front birfs altogether? :rasta: :smokin:

is this too hard
too much work
or not feasible for some other reason?
(just a question of curiosity) cause it looks thin enough to try it on

did you happen to see the full size bronco with bald 31's. by the
time he made it out he couldn't open or close the passenger door.
fool still had a smile on his face. musta been a borrowed vehicle.
we got lucky w/no problems.
did anyone hear about the guy that crushed his hand.
heard he got it caught between the roll bar and the ground.
poor guy wasnt even driving. aint that a bitch...
anybody know him and how bad it was?:(

ToyFamily

that was a white ford truck with a flatbed??? he was right in front of me when I did my last run and dug some big holes which game me a hell of a time with the 35's......I didn't hear about the guys hand but I heard about lifeflight coming in, must have been him.....I'm surprised a few others didn't get hurt....there was that dumbass passenger in the flatfender looking sami sticking his leg out and pushing the tire with his foot and resting his leg on the fender thinking he was cool or something  what an idiot.

the carb still did alright I had a few misses and lack of starts but it might have been my fuel filter...had to change it out when it got clogged....I did notice one thing about the angles with the carb....when I rolled it to the right the gas seemed to leak out the side of the engine bay and she wouldn't restart...BUT, when I rolled it to the left I was fully on my side and it was still running capably (kinda funny how I can observe this).....I might make a metal shroud on the right side of the carb and see if it keeps the gas in and helps it run....it definately runs well for a carb..but later if I can wrangle up the cash EFI might be in order...If it were a trail rig I'd be happy with it but I don't want points in a comp to come down to that...

And my sister said she didn't want to but after she told me she's glad I made her do it.

no, the flat bed ford broke his front driveline coming in friday night, then lost his rear cover in the sluice. i headed home while he was still in there. got tired of waiting. the ford bronco was almost back to loon at pinch rock. he must have figured out
at the begining of the trail he needed to turn around. cause i never saw him at little sluice. too bad he didnt figure that out before he crushed the passenger side of his rig.
did you stay to watch the flatbed finish the sluice. if so did he make it or get winched out?

Had a good time this weekend watching the madness. It was nice to just ride shotgun in UGETIT's 4Runner and drink lots of  all weekend. My liver hurts. :D ToyFamily was getting it in the box this weekend. But he definiitely needs some 37s..... :p

First major run of the year, and there were PLENTY of idiots. I had to have a talk with someone in our group who ran over a bush (not a POR member) trying to climb a wall, had to yell at some idiots who were blazing a new bypass through the mud and plowing over trees, Scott had to yell at some idiots who were shooting guns over the lake  and that's all I can remember for now. All in all it was a fun weekend....

woudlnt the amount of traction difference of the front or rear make it change how it steered. like, if the middle just twisted to turn, it would hjave to scrape the tires to the side to turn. ya know? and if the fronts had lots of traction, it would swing the rear around, so you couldnt control your turns. right??? :rasta:

Yeah right:rolleyes:
Between that junkyard contraption that made it as far as the 1st ledge, Johnny Rotten, breaking down just after the ledge, Welder boy jumping in and struggeling in both directions, the carbuerated CJ that spent an hour finding a way to get stuck in every possible position, without making it halfway up the 1st ledge, it took about 3 hours to get 0 rigs through the box.
I think I finaly got in the box at 12:30, but Rotten was still in the fawkin way, blocking the wall line, and the center line and there was no good line over the top of him either. Hahaha It was a blast though, and Dave did steal the show with that insane climb up the wall.
I think I finaly went through the box at about 1:15 after lining up with 4 rigs in front of me at 9:00.

And for you to say that, you must have missed the 8 runs the buggy walked, or the three of a 13yr old driving!! What do you exect from 35" BFGs (ice skates) in 44 inch holes. Hey Nic,

When I talked to you at the Gatekeeper and mentioned that you should sacrifice a little ground clearance and lower it a little, I hadn't realized that you had already done so. I didn't watch you too much in the box...It was like a Calrocs reunion and It was a little boring. Anyway, I made the comment because I have seen a lot of competition rigs now and it seems that you can sacrafice ground clearance and make it over obsticles with momentum and a spotter instead. So, I don't know if I was grouped into your "It's too tall" people but I was just trying to offer some advice. Sounds like you are already on it and are still working out the bugs...awesome rig BTW.

I'm not talking about you, I appriciate your thought (you asked me If I wanted it) but there were a few people in the crowd I knew at CalRocs specifically on 7 and heard a few people say the comments stated above before my run.........and then when we walked it those guys were staring atthe ground looking stupid.:fliipoff2:.....I also heard comments about it on the video I watched........I'm not getting butt hurt about it, but when most people are only bolting shit on there rigs THEN standing on the side (wheather at a Comp or at the Sluice) they have no say until they at least try it themselves....and No matter how shitty it may or may not have worked 1. I was expecting criticism, there are a few things about it that are pretty new on the scene, criticism is expected. For the second trip out, it seems like it performed pretty damn well to me.

Lets see you bolt on some 35's and do better....One roll (crack line) no one else tried it....can't wait to see your asses in the box on the 4th doing better.......oh and the Big head fits perfect :flipoff2: ...... there is no arogance, just alot of hard work.....and proud of it.....

Not trying be a Jerk here (aka JiMMy)....
I would call on the side a roll also. No one else tried the crack, because that is the best spot to roll. Putting yourself on "The Chopping Block", does not mean you have a bitchen ride. Your rig is nice, but not a crack line machine by any stretch.

Hmmmm. I saw Craig run the Gerbel with 35's, and he ran the same line you did in about, oh, 1/10 the time. Gooooo Sillyfab.

So, if you were getting used to the rig, then you should be good at getting hung up and rolling over:rasta:

I'm not getting butt hurt about it, but when most people are only bolting shit on there rigs THEN standing on the side (wheather at a Comp or at the Sluice) they have no say until they at least try it themselves....

Right on Brotha'!! My last response to that kind of criticism was "your right, but it works better than anything you have ever built!" Some ass hole was commenting on how my 4 link should have been built, and he had never even gone past a shackle reversal on any of his rigs.

the light weight thing has been a topic of conversation in the snowmobile world for a few years and I have been involved with it ever since it was started. I still maintan that there is no situation that a rig can be too light for, unless its is towing heavy loads. Since competition rigs do not tow trailers, I beleive that the lighter the truck is, the better. There is only one constant in 4x4's and that is gravity.

Lighter is better!

Flame on. :D

Geeze guys dont be so fuckin sensitive.
I agree Nick that you have built a very nice rig, and I totaly respect how quickly it came around, and the fact that you are testin g it so hard and improving your skills.....but that is something that you chose to do,. and you enjoy doing it. Other people do have the right to have opinions, and the fact that they state them when you line up to do a run is not such a maliciouse act that you have to lash out and defend every comment.
Let your actions be your statement.
Those who know enough about the finer science of what ou have built, know and respect what you have done so far.
It does seem a little arrogant that, you consider yourself beyond the average humans comprehension, or opinions, of your current accomplishments after only a couple of trips in a new rig.

I don't think of myself as above anyone else or what have you ....all I said is what I DID do, not what the thing is capable of and never backing it up.....I'm not trying to be arogant but (and might be a little sensitive on jumping comments) but it's funny how much people say it won't work and it does....
hey papa smurf I'm right here :flipoff2:......ok, Craig went once up and once down the box ......then broke...hmmmm.....and did you even get into the box??...oh ...wait you broke...and never got in...I'm still not broken after all the "hang ups and Flops".....yours is a sweet rig but maybe it should stick to show and shine...:D....sorry I called it a roll I'll wait til I plant it on the 17x22" roof to call it one then... I stand corrected....

Not being arogant just slinging back in fun :flipoff2:

Toy Fam, I am the guy w/ the rear steer Toy that will be a single seater fuel injected in (2) wks. Don't take their Sh__ too seriously. They are envious and wish they had the ability to build one like ours. Furthermore, when I am on the Rubithon, they will only be able to watch our lines or walk them on 2 feet. Good Luck and "E" mail me I have some ???? for you Run Dog
